Yoga of the Heart

Yoga of the Heart

A heart awakening documentary of an Indian spiritual (tantric) festival, hosted by one of the great yoga masters and gurus of the 20th century, Swami Satyananda Saraswati.

Come on a magical journey, where the boundless compassion of a living guru has transformed a remote tribal region of Northeast India into a vibrant community, and a unique festival of the heart.

Yoga of the Heart transports you to a world where esoteric yoga tantra ritual and social service (karma yoga) merge into one. You will learn about the esoteric meaning of this authentic tantra yoga and bhakti yoga event, and gain powerful insights into authentic tantric ritual.

The events of the festival are vibrant, beautiful, exotic and visually spectacular. They include spiritual discourse (satsang) from Swami Satyananda, mantra chanting, cultural theatre and the authentic tantric fire ceremony.

All of this elaborate beauty is a created to seduce the divine energies, to draw down the blessings of the great mother goddess, Chandi.

Rare Footage of a Yoga-tantra Fire Ritual

You will see extremely rare and precious footage of a powerful, usually secret, hidden tantric fire ritual where Swami Satyananda engages in a life and death spiritual practice called the ‘Five Fire Sadhana’.

Through his invocation of the goddess Swami Satyananda has transformed this region, and taken the people from poverty to prosperity. This is the true test of a spiritual tradition and its practices, what can it do in a practical sense to uplift us at all levels.
